The only requirement for signing up for the Workshop is to read and sign these letters of informed consent. I put together this program in part to conduct research for my doctoral study on teenagers’ use of online technology in learning about art, and so I’m hoping we’ll be able to both be learning during our sessions. My approach to “research” will be pretty casual and qualitative (no tests here!), and will consist mostly of documenting the events of our class, the occasional informal interview, and other discussions or interactions that unfold during the Workshop. Please read the informed consent letters below for more information about this study and your involvement as a participant in the Digital Arts Workshop this semester. I thank you sincerely for your time and your willingness to help me in my studies.
Both parents and students must read and sign the attached letters of informed consent. Please print and sign each of these, and bring to our first meeting on January 25th, 2014. If you’d prefer that I send you a hard copy in the mail, please email me with your address and I would be happy to send them out for you.
